Related: About this forumEgypt's el-Sisi rejects Trump's suggestion to take in Palestinians
President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has said Egypt will not participate in the displacement of Palestinians, days after United States President Donald Trump suggested that Arab countries take in Palestinians from the war-torn Gaza Strip.
Regarding what is being said about the displacement of Palestinians, it can never be tolerated or allowed because of its impact on Egyptian national security, el-Sisi told a press conference on Wednesday.
The deportation or displacement of the Palestinian people is an injustice in which we cannot participate, he said.

So El Sisi finally said the quiet part out loud: the reason for "an injustice in which we cannot participate" is that it "can never be tolerated or allowed because of its impact on Egyptian national security.
A rather convenient euphemism for keeping Palestinians in refugee camps.

If the Egyptians wanted to take the Palestinians in, they would have done it a long time ago. But 1) Egypt is a poor country and they can't absorb that many people; and 2) The Palestinians cause trouble. Especially Hamas, which is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, as well as Islamic Jihad. If Islamists start causing trouble, it would destabilize Egypt and possibly lead to another Islamist government.

Palestinian insurgencies. There are good reasons why the Gulf Arab states expelled their Palestinian residents when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait. Those folks aren't welcome anywhere anymore.
