I am engaged in a battle with meninists in my own neck of the woods in the Global South.
First of all, if it’s influencers or someone monetising stuff or this sort of astroturf bullshit where it’s about the common man’s right to annoy women on the street but also a teaching moment art etc? No. It’s fits this stupid Fugazi regulation thing I saw yesterday. Not sure if that’s a real concept on a hoax but it fits what I see.
As Sinclair Lewis said about fascism and the flag and Bible, when the surveillance state slowly encroaches based on my experiences:
1) it’s kinda jokey and alt right but the profits, exploitation, manipulation, serious damage to my family or my health and the nuisance of chronic stress are real. But it will be pitched as health, safety, ethical hacking, ransomware prevention, jobs, growth, development and no.
Like my sleazy credit card company, the local defense contracting, tech cos with poor data hygiene and rapacious worldviews..
I am filing complaints anyway both at the level of the state and the centre at some point (communist, religious right of centre or whatever, when it’s my resources, health and rights, I have a say as a citizen and that was violated so a complaint is guaranteed). And sexual harassment victims have the right to anonymity here and shouldn’t have to prove they are not bots or submit to the 2025 take on the two finger test.
RTI, FOIA etc apply here. Mh property is not being volunteered for any of this and never was and it’s not cool. And more tumors branching off of the original one is guaranteed catastrophe.
When was Roe v Wade overturned? 2022? Didn’t surprise me.
I am not waiting till this can encroach and exploit me further and security is not a gift or treat. That’s a right and citizens having to risk their anonymity to call out encroaching tech companies and creeps and influencers is not a good economic or political sign.
That aside, when it is not sexual harassment, influencers, rapacious profit making, bogus artists and so on, I am not a fascist. So even when I disapprove, where it is a one off like a candidate for Jackass, Global South Podunk who doesn’t get that I am not for Creepiverse( a la South Park’s aliens from Cancelled who think being in a moronic reality show is cool rather than execrable and awful..). Don’t do int again.. where it ks not a predator or for profit but truly just a moron, as a one off I can drop it.
But I don’t want to keep seeing IQ test failing morons who think they are nudging behaviorists and social engineering entrepreneurs or other sad sacks. Thats really problematic and the odd jackass in the crowd is the least offensive of the lot in being an honest moron. But I am sick of honest and dishonest morons.
