I'd never seen "Naked Gun 33 1/3" before

In fact, I didn't even know it existed. Watched it last night. Very funny. Probably the best of the three Leslie Neilson movies. More outrageous and bawdier than the first two.

The TV series is funny, too!

We had about 30 years of some really funny movies (ie Blazing Saddles, Airplane, History of the World, Kentucky Fried Movie, National Lampoon’s Vacation, etc). Now, not so much.

I still find it hard to believe that for most of his career, Leslie Neilson wasnt as a comedic actor!

For whatever reason Paramount shut Pat Proft and David Zucker (co-creators of the originals) out & it showed.

It's just tough to match up to the original

The short lived tv show that the movies were based on was hilarious..

Trivia

After the success of The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988) and The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear (1991), Comedy Central and CBS re-aired all six episodes of this series in the summer of 1991.

Producers wanted to include John Belushi's "guest star" appearance in Testimony of Evil (Dead Men Don't Laugh) (1982), which had been cut due to Belushi's death. The footage could not be located, and is now presumed lost or destroyed.
