Exercise and Fitness

I can feel and see the progress.
I started....25 weeks ago, lifting 3 days a week with 20 minutes on my exercise bike (which I still detest, but I do it anyway).
I have reached a point where missing a workout bothers me, so I guess that means it's a habit.
I have missed one here and there, usually because we were out of town.
Now, I am working on not trying to increase too much too fast. I want to be able to move larger amounts of weight, but I'm a 59 year old woman, so maybe my 95 pound bench press isn't too bad. Slow and steady.
I think I need to add two more sessions a week on the exercise bike, maybe while I'm watching TV with the husband.
I have gone a year and a half without a cortisone shot for my ankle arthritis, though I think I may need that fairly soon.
My resting heart rate has gone down and I am walking better (and can walk longer), but by do I miss my summer lap swimming. Next year, I'll be the first to sign up for it, it was 40 bucks for the whole summer, every day for an hour.
But, I'm still doing it. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

(18,845 posts)actually really proud of myself for keeping on.
Even when I don't feel like it, I get my butt up and do it.
I don't weigh myself, but my clothes are looser and I move around much more easily.
I can get up without thinking about it, even though our couch is REALLY low.
