Just curious. I am going to check out two of them. One meets once a month at the hospital were I was a patient and is for former patients. The other is the local chapter of the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance and meets twice a month.

(15 posts)I had a period in my life where I felt that I had serious depression. I saw an ad for a support group, and called to get info. They told me that the support group was for people who:
were on meds
were not higher-functioning
or had other way serious issues
Therefore, I was not allowed to attend. This did not hurt my feelings - I realized that there were people who had it much worse than me, and I started cognitive therapy and St. John's Wort. Worked wonders.
