I am in no position to offer advice or guidance but if it helps to put your feelings out here to us, many of us are willing to hear you even if there isn’t much we can do to ease any distress. Be kind to yourself!

Drop in, say hi, and if you can't bring an open heart, bring an open mind.

Hey Koz, Adam here. It’s tough some days but you’re not alone. I’ve been bingeing true crime murder podcasts. Not the healthiest thing I suppose but maybe I need to know things could be worse. It’s a bit scary when you feel drawn to remember bad times like a magnet. We care for you hang in there.

This is a venue where you can find amazing sources of support. This is a venue where you can cultivate an arena of empathy. This is a venue where you can discover more about yourself and your fellow traveler on this plane of human existence. This plane that's filled with pain and misery but also with wonder and joy. The things that I do to stay in the moment include breathing, cultivating opportunities to find awe in nature, admiring the flight of the birds, the structure of leaves, and the trees, the interplay of light and shadow, and keeping myself healthy in body, mind, and spirit. It's an ongoing process, it's never-ending but we are all part of something and which is greater and without pain and suffering, there would be no beauty. If life was simply all bliss, we wouldn't recognize it. So that gives me solace and I hope it helps. May peace be with you

I’ve been focusing a lot on death, too, so I understand. As more friends and loved ones die, the more I think about it and the more depressed and anxious I get.

I’ve learned that I feel so much better when I spend time with friends, even cyber friends. DU is a lovely community of friends.

I’m glad you’re back.

I had one of those days recently, and posted about it, and boy - I’ll never forget the folks here who stepped up with reassurance, sincere concern, and affection. Still grateful for that!

Thanks for checking in! I know folks here who see your post will want to reach out, even if it’s just to say “hi” and that you’re in their thoughts. That sounds like a teeny little thing, but it sure was helpful for me. And sometimes, even just that little moment can mean a WHOLE LOT.

I hope this perks you up. People care. Especially here on DU.

These are hard times. Managing anxiety and hopeless feelings take a lot of work. I've never been interested in shows just for laughs until post-election. Now Big Bang Theory is medicine for me.

I read DU still, but now before I close it down I go to the DU Lounge for pet videos, like those from The Dodo.

Today I heard that singing, especially with others, can help reset and regulate one's mood. It doesn't have to be tuneful particularly. It makes sense to me! I plan to try that one soon, even if it's just singing in the shower.

Anyway, I always love to hear from you even if I mostly linger and hang back for those who know you best to respond.

Here's the short link, btw.
https://www.amazon.com/Sing-Yourself-Well-Seconds-Change/dp/099784910X

I like what is written about the book on Amazon:

"…always recommend singing holistically to enliven the seven qualities of wellness: awareness, relaxation, alignment, expansion, flow, power, and energy. Singing this way helps when someone feels stuck in their life: Divorce, death of loved ones, financial struggles, kids out of the home, relationship or career change."

I heard about just in general about the research today on a little radio segment called Take a Moment with Marnie Castor which airs every day on KUT.org. I have emailed to ask for the link to listen again. I know how singing together makes me feel. Some people join church choirs even if they don't believe in the church's teachings because they love that feeling.

7The day MrsK died.
I did my job as 1st responders, pumped her chest, breathed her lungs. LilBit was on the couch.
I left MrsK to scream outside," CALL911"
They came, I had Her back by then, medics put her in ambulance , I got Lil in the car, and, by time we got to hospital, I knew.

Yeah that's my dream, love
