Orange-Glazed Crispy Tofu and Broccoli.
The glaze has orange zest, a little dark brown sugar, tamari, and grated garlic.
The tofu gets crisp via the usual means--cornstarch.
Supposed to be served over rice but I'm going with soba noodles.
I have cold, crispy greens, too, so I'll add tomato, cucumber, red onion, and the first of my celery for the year. Sesame-scallion vinaigrette.
Kombucha: apricot pineapple
Dessert: cantaloupe with lemon squeezed over it.

(5,719 posts)a week and half before our SS checks get here, I had planned on Spaghetti... but decided to do something different along the theme. So, tonight I bought some fresh living basil and am going to make Penne All'Arrabbiata. Since we like spicy food in this house, I'm looking forward to it. Serving it with fresh baked Rosemary and Olive Oil Italian bread. With fresh strawberries and cream for dessert.
Not too bad for a shopping trip that I kept under $40 bucks for the night's dinner for the three of us.

(1,414 posts)Homemade oven-baked falafel croquettes wrapped in a large lavash flat bread slathered with walnut-balsamic dressing. Romaine lettuce, sliced tomato, red onion, pickled beets, and tahini dressing also included in the wrap. Cheers! 🥂

(1,808 posts)with homemade tartar sauce, broccoli, and leftover mashed potatoes. The catfish was mild and not fishy, and the nuggets were oven baked so not too much work nor too messy. About $5/lb too, so not too expensive.
