Breakfast Sunday 14 September 2025

Later this morning I'm planning on over medium egg, bacon, toast, orange slices and a pot of tra to drink.

The syrup is what I did with the aftermath of canning peaches - I boiled the unused light syrup (now with fruit juices) down till it would fit in a pint jar and processed it. It's like a thin maple syrup and tastes peachy. I think we'll use it up before we need to worry about spoilage.

I did the same thing with the syrup left over from canning pears. I must have had more of it because by the time it fit in the jar, it was really thick. If you turn the processed jar over, it takes a good 20 seconds for the bubble to float to the top. I'll have to find some dessert to use it in or with.

Waste nothing.
