Just arrived home from my protest 20" ago. Ravenously hungry. I prepared a chopped salad with romaine and cucumbers, celery, tomatoes, scallion, and red, gold, and green peppers. I added gruyere cheese and toasted pumpkin seeds. French dressing.
Coming up, an Impossible Burger on an English muffin, toasted. Lettuce, cheese, raw onion.
Cider and cherry kombucha.

(6,853 posts)I chopped veggies, prepped the chicken, and made some extra wild rice before we left for No Kings. When I got home, I finished up my chicken and wild rice soup with biscuit topping. Oh... did I say it tasted good? (LOL) My grandson had 3 bowls, and every time he went by my door he'd stick his head in and say "You outdid yourself this time, Grandma!" (gryn)

(3,965 posts)We had lasagna last week, have leftover sauce so we are having pasta with the sauce and grilled shrimp. Blueberry and apple crisp with vanilla ice cream.
Always enjoy seeing what other folks have for dinner. Sometimes I get jealous!

(36,809 posts)I'm pretty worn out this afternoon so I'll probably take a quart of frozen sauce out to thaw.

(30,366 posts)Modified by adding a boiled egg. Nollie will be having her own egg and salad (just lettuce) she loves both. I'm having a glass of whole milk on ice and she will have ice water.
Great crowd today, more than twice the numbers from last time. Plus, there was an additional group downtown and another at the ocean. So, major developments. Possibly, 9 thousand total or very close to it.
I cried happy tears.
Bon Appétit, everyone.

(18,978 posts)TJ made it from shredded chicken breasts, rice and veggies. Some sort of creamy canned soup. Lots of garlic and onion powder.
I have some asparagus to use up too.
Nothing for the Duckster because of the garlic and onion. I'll give him some raw carrots and broccoli to crunch so he wont be too disappointed.
I'll wait until TJ heads out to work in a couple of hours.

(747 posts)For the first time in many years and probably the last time in my life, I made Hamburger Helper.
Deluxe Stroganoff variety. It wasn't horrible. It also wasn't good. I can and have made much better ground beef stroganoff with egg noodles and sour cream. My wife wouldn't even eat much of it.
I decided to give it a shot because I am seeing stories on the news about sales improving for Hamburger Helper. Price wise, it's not bad. It just doesn't taste very good.

(1,614 posts)Steam-fried in evoo and veggie broth: chopped onion, celery, cabbage, yellow bell pepper, sliced carrots, mushrooms and minced garlic. I added chopped fresh tomatoes and a couple Tbsps of tomato paste and let it simmer. Dark red kidney, pinto beans, and steamed corn were added along with spices of chili powder, cumin, oregano, paprika, chipotle powder and cayenne. Chopped parsley and a small amount of cilantro finished the dish. Cheers!🥂
