Breakfast Sunday 17 May 2026

Later this morning I'm planning on baking the pre-made quiche, frying 3 strips of bacon and drink a pot of tea.

The crockpot smothered pork chops I made yesterday were a disappointment, it is a new crockpot and heats faster then the old one I had, so the chops were slightly over cooked. I cut the leftovers into small bites, froze them and the gravy separately for future meals. Oddly the gravy was perfect. Ah well

My aches and pains woke me up too early.

Neighbor boy down the road is graduating from high-school, and his parents are having an open house in his honor at the Catholic Church this morning. They are serving guests breakfast between 9 am to noon. Should be a good breakfast.

Strawberries and Greek yogurt, honey vanilla flavor. French toast.

Put those pork bits with some Carolina BBQ sauce and they will be delicious!

I’ll bet that will be a nice breakfast, Emile. I’ve got all kinds of aches and pains too. But I am having fun figuring out alternative ways to get all this done. Maybe some pics later.

Kroger had 1 lb packs of bacon for $2.69. I got 2 packs yesterday. Eagerly anticipated today's breakfast.

Black coffee

Enjoying the rain, doing puzzles. Nice day so far!

The last time I bought bacon, I paid $3 for 12 oz. and had a strip every few days. That's probably better for my physical health, if not my mental health

I'm so used to portioning my food, I am pretty good at limiting intake. I had 2 slices today, but I think I'll go back to one.

I'm going to revisit the tofu bacon, too. NJCher mentioned boiling tofu. I'm going to try that with the tofu bacon recipe and see if it gets a little crispier.

without boiling the tofu. I liked the flavor, but why not experiment? I read that boiling the tofu will allow better absorption and crispier results
