Help. Need seed identified.

My nephew picked this seed head from a forested campsite this weekend- (before I could give him the lecture about not picking flowers and seeds from the wild). Anyway it is a beautiful red/orange seed head on a long stalk. Does anyone have any idea what it is?

BTW, I threw it back into the woods to give it a chance to propagate.

I'm excited- I love Jack-in-the Pulpit. I will have to go back next year and see if any of them come up. I threw them in a shady area. I will have to pass on the taste test though.
