I don't know which other beardos he was referring to. Maybe Navy? They can wear beards but they have to grow it in their off time and keep it groomed. Maybe DoD civilian employees?

A lot of African Americans find shaving painful.
I am of Mediterranean ancestry and thick, curly beard hairs cause ingrown hairs, which .... raise hell.
So, I have a short stubble beard.

November is my 50th anniversary of getting a DD-214.
For unknown reasons, they put us on inactive reserve for 2 years.
I didn't answer the phone for 2 years (just kidding, they didn't call)
