I had a bad feeling when he announced that she was in the hospital. I think she had an illness on top of it all that he mentioned last year, maybe-?
I'm so sorry to hear that she is gone, he loved her very much, you could tell from his stories... and the boys. At least they are not young children at this point and he has a tight relationship with them, makes me feel that they will take care of each other through this.

'she was born 1968 on thanksgiving day,' and the family was meeting elsewhere in PA for the holiday.
i think of her boys and their tender ages it just makes me cry. I was 13 when my dad died, my younger brother was 14. That year we buried him the day before Thanksgiving. Next year Thanksgiving will be on the anniversary of her death.
I just realized: she was born the year my father died, just 5 days later. My niece was born on the 27th. My oldest brother was with us in CA getting ready for the funeral and his wife was in AZ giving birth to his youngest daughter.
this is so sad.

I am so sorry for you, your sons, daughters and the pups.
They understood each other and made a wonderful home for their children, 3 grown daughters and 2 sons - one adopted - still at home, not to mention the animals who we loved hearing about. My heart goes out to his wonderful family.
sad I am to hear this. I so admired the love he expressed for his wife and this is just a wrenching bit of news.
I hope the warm thoughts, caring, and wishes somehow reach him and sustain him. We'll be here when he can return to talk.

I read the earlier post about your wife being in the hospital and was touched by how you described the dogs waiting and watching for her.
I don't know you. You don't know me. But I do know how much you loved her. It was there in the warm and affectionate way you wrote about her. It touched my heart.
And now I sit here typing this to someone I've never met with tears streaming down my face. Because of love. Because your heart was in everything you wrote about her and I know how much she meant, and still means, to you.
I am so very sorry. May you find peace and comfort somehow, somewhere, somewhen. Blessings to you and yours.
