I do not ever recall ever having received one of these & I've been on Soc. Security for 8 yrs.
Makes me wonder whether remaining staffers sent these out to protect us?

(66,822 posts)Watch your mail, though, & save it if you get one! Mine is dated late March. They conveniently never put dates on letters as a general rule.

(40,335 posts)This makes sense because I myself have never received a Social Security check in my life (I retired 18 yrs ago) and yet I got a letter (dated) from the SSA that summarized my benefits under the Social Security Fairness Act which, IIRC, got no media coverage back in January, when it was signed into law.
At the very least, SS employees are trying to give Americans documented evidence of their earned, legal benefits, in case they suffer any muskrats' tech thievery.
This is why democratic government exists. To help people, not hurt them.
It's always a good idea to write dates on the upper right of all govt paper communications and keep them in a Govt Comms file. Also, govt employees have told me in person that all digital communications are scams and not to be clicked on or responded to, because the US Govt communicates through the US Postal Service.
