I don't have to worry about Easter dinner

The kids are making an Easter lunch and I'm getting chauffeured to and from.

Truth be told, I'm not all that keen on the whole thing but I don't want to disappoint the kids. I have no appetite and when things get too loud (my family can be a bit OTT at these get togethers) my anxiety spikes and muscle spasms in my back start clenching. Well, when the get together is at my house. This is the first holiday dinner I'm not hosting and hosting is pretty work intensive.

I haven't seen my nephew's house, since he's finished renovations so I am excited about that. I'm also wearing my other nephew's Christmas gift.

The changing of the 'guard' for these functions is, perhaps, making me bit wobbly. I have a gigantic fear of feeling useless and becoming dependent.

Stiff upper lip and all that stuff. Since it's a luncheon I should be home in plenty of time to feed the kid cats. My fear is they will sleep all day and aim that stored up energy at me!!

Welp, just got word that my chauffeur (my niece) is on her way. Wish me luck.

Mom wouldn't allow anyone, and I mean anyone (my sisters etc.) to prepare anything or do anything, she had to do it all. A control freak? I don't know. But, I think that there needs to be a time and place where things are gracefully passed on to the next generation, signal the graceful acceptance of the next generation....

Plus, any idiocy about a "secret" ingredient that is never shared.

And they are even chauferring you! Sit back & enjoy!

You are not being dependent. Sometimes we have to forego our strong sense of independence so we don't deprive our loved ones the pleasure of doing nice things for us. You deserve it!

As long as you can type, take photos and pet kitties, you will never be useless. We depend on you so much for tales of King Arthur and his Court.
And Merlin lol.
We love you!!
Happy Easter
