Can you seriously imagine that any significant number of the 73 million plus SS recipients not get their check and it not be huge, enormous, important, crowd out every other news, and that NOT be covered totally and completely?

We really, honestly, so not need individual reports of any one SS check arriving, especially in the third week of the month, as if millions of other checks have not also already arrived.

I am treated for anxiety. This has become a trigger, no matter how I deal with it intellectually. I have made sure I'm aware of truth behind hype, but even so, the administration is breaking laws, trampling rights and stopping money already earmarked. In spite of what I read about my check getting deposited, I am on high alert. Just think of waiting for the other shoe to drop, all the time.

19. Hell yes, I'm relieved every time my SS or my husband's shows up in our bank account on time!

I'm allowed to be relieved, thank you very much, and so is anyone else who relies on SS for survival. That is entirely separate from my concern for everyone who is suffering from Schlump's terrible, horrible, no good, very bad, decision making (including turning Eloon and DOGE loose to lay waste to our government),

I assure you that concern DOES exist. My husband and I have both experienced our share of layoffs and bouts of unemployment (though nothing like the chaos government workers are now facing, which I honestly have trouble even imagining), and we know it can be frightening and stressful. But when one's own survival seems to be hanging by a thread, that is naturally where one's attention is going to be primarily fixed. I am not going to apologize to anyone for that.

I'm going to be ok. I do reality checks, and reassure myself that I have plans b and c, but even with a prescription, anxiety gets the better of me. I hope we'll all be okay, soon.

I started collecting SS in April 2021, when I retired, right before my 70th birthday.

I hope your enjoying retirement. I started collecting a few months after I turned 65, and I'll be 73 this year. I've retired from 2 things since and am currently a semi-retired as Uber Grandma and grand dog walker. I get paid in hugs and wet dog toys

Honestly, we do not need individual reports of SS arriving, because if suddenly SS checks stopped, we'd know about it, and not need individual reports of missing checks here on DU.

When they receive their checks. It calms some of my fears about how SS is functioning, and gives me slight hope it might be functioning in the future as well.

And I think of all the heartbreaking posts I have read from seniors saying, if they take SS from me, I won’t survive, and I think, thank god the checks are still going out, thank god for that at least….

So I am happy for every SS post I read here.
