Absorbing Garrett's contract would be problematic for the 49ers. But just imagine Bosa and Garrett on opposite sides in 2026.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan acknowledged for the first time Sunday that quarterback Brock Purdys turf toe is unlikely to heal this season.
Its something that probably wont fully go away all year, Shanahan said. Regardless of when he comes back, hes going to always have to deal with it a little bit. And especially with the people you talk to who have gone through turf toe, its really just about assessing whens the best time to come back (so) that you have to deal with it the least. Its a little bit of a tricky decision.
