A new area for me, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Thoroughly enjoyed it. 15 days. I put a sample of photos on Amazon Photos (first time using it). Only thing I don't like is that you can't add captions.
I will be making trip #10 to France in April, going to Hauts-de-France and north to Belgium and Netherlands and back down again through more Hauts-de-France and, of course, Paris.
Please enjoy! And if you have questions, please let me know!
Clermont-Ferrand In the dormant volcano region. UNESCO World Heritage Site https://www.amazon.com/photos/shared/jwMZLzitTL2RTZs2zkZouA.NnRtx7arZR4ie_5gofr6zS
Lyon	Frances 2nd largest city; great museum; stumbled on a huge ceramics show/market. Lovely cathedral atop a hill overlooking Lyon ]https://www.amazon.com/photos/shared/BFCqtRbpQAOCuNmH9c5p7w.MEAFtTn5eePUUR6TVZnpdW
Annecy	OMG the loveliest town and lake. The water was perfectly clear. Near Geneva. https://www.amazon.com/photos/shared/lHM1cNMTQT6tUhczpWkmPA.eueZt-xirKM9sKBt4iuk3x
Yvoire Charm out the wazoo; on Lac Leman, across from Switzerland https://www.amazon.com/photos/shared/8FwDn-1QRpar83MBExRPbw.pM9Qt5RYWLT3WRyZuISoxv
Grenoble Fairly large city, mountains, ski areas nearby, many colleges; wonderful museum https://www.amazon.com/photos/shared/xAuwJZsmRbyZbG01PESPAg.U6TY65dc81RPnABgHyeknu
Montelimar Last minute addition, nice old chateau up top; wonderful contemporary art museum. https://www.amazon.com/photos/shared/m74cZcr_TxabBXa-0htFyA.LRgsMQdJhdtmzYtiQmyK5L

Paris Very small manageable museum. If you go to Paris, do see Orsay and Louvre but it thats too much, go here. Marmottan Monet Museum https://www.amazon.com/photos/shared/IR9nONpxTzOoNu6sG_zmyg.m6C6Z9ncDXLIOkkFdOt-Vd
A few photos I am so proud of and they make me smile:
Annecy: The French couple next to me on the boat tour were funny. When we passed this chateau, (and I had pointed out a couple of chateaux before this and said, 'I own that!' and we cackled) they said, 'Is this one yours, too?" I said, "Nope, sold it last year!"

En route on the N102 in Ardeche: I nearly drove off the road! Beautiful land and horses.

Also en route to Bourges: (artsied up)

Non-artsied up:

(19,584 posts)Love the family in red in Bourges, the paintings in Grenoble ( especially the still life with the blue table cloth), church candles in Lyon, the back view of the man in striped shirt carrying his chien, all the gorgeous scenery.
So happy you shared.

(19,722 posts)The family I caught just outside the cathedral. They were prepping to attend a wedding and we chatted a few minutes. They looked SO NICE I asked if I could take a photo and you see the results!
The man w/dog was on the bus in Paris, in front of me. He and his wife were chatting in Spanish and I tapped him and asked if I could take a photo of le chien and we chatted. She is French and he is from Spain so they have a bilingual marriage, I guess.
