I believe that there is often another ‘step’ in the pattern between narcissistic & empath.

Once the empath no longer allows access, the narcissist will often resort to attempting to trash the reputation of the empath with friends/family/work colleagues. I guess this might be a final attempt to control them in some way OR to ‘reinforce’ their own image- An image that they feel has been sullied by the empaths exposure of their BS.

Sadly, narcissism is a great blight on society.
It seems do a lot of damage to too many people.

end up in positions of authority where they ‘feast’ on the power they have over others.

I’ve worked with lots of them. 🤨

I feel really sorry for those who marry one & children who’ve grown up with a narcissistic parent.

But if the public were taught psychology basics, i.e., Psych 101, as a required course in high school, they might notice the detrimental, toxic personality disorder and shun them, rather than worship them.

I've worked with lots of them too, and i never -- and I truly mean never -- enable psychopathology. Nor do I back down.

There is a whole branch of psych these days dealing with narcissistic parents, esp mothers. I cqnnot imagine marrying one of these odd creatures. Very sad, indeed.

We tend to attract narcissists until we wake up and realize our high sensitivity/empathy is a talent, gift, asset not a detriment.

Narcissist’s main goal is to control others; an empath who is asleep lives with much self doubt which makes them easier to control. Hence the two attract each other. As the empath begins to awaken in the relationship with the narcissist, they began to see the patterns of destructive and controlling behavior. The empath learns to trust their own self, their instincts and feelings. And the narcissist does what they always do try even harder to control the other, never learning the value of what they have in front of them.

An excellent video to watch!

Develop iron clad boundaries!

They always try to hang their projections upon empaths. When the empath does not accept the projection, often the narcissist will become angry, violent. (Marie Louise von Franz) Not accepting the projection often looks like this: the empath calmly states facts refuting the attempted projection.

TY again, Clouds!

a scapegoat too.

In their anger they lash out, and need someone to blame their actions on.

but i was picking up Xian energy as he was talking...maybe right maybe wrong.

However, even if he is a magat, that does not erase the truthiness of what he had to say.

Stopped clocks and all that.

forgive me folks, followed this individual for many years, and all i can say is he needs to look hard into a mirror.

claiming super-empath powers is, itself, narcissistic as hell!

and he is that, the latter, for sure.
