DU Community Help
Related: About this forumPlease help. I cannot find one of my art essays that I published here on DU.
It is entitled Francisco Goya: self portrait in his 40s and in his 60s.
I used the Google box here on DU and then went on Google directly. The essay is not there. It was not under copyright.
The illustrations I used were not objectionable, not copyrighted so I wonder why it has disappeared.
Can anyone suggest a way I can retrieve it?

the self portrait is in the body rather than in the title of this post

(62,444 posts)click this link:
https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=ctyankee+goya+site%3Ademocraticunderground.com
That will do the google search "ctyankee goya site:democraticunderground.com" which will produce a link to every thread here at DU where you and goya are both mentioned.

(66,039 posts)The funny thing I was that I SAW this exhibit because I remember giving my granddaughter a little tutorial on Goya, at my daughter's request.
And I actually saw some originals in my trip to Madrid several years ago. I just forgot the title of the piece.
And thanks for the heads up on the way I can search for these essays and other posts...

(56,203 posts)click on it and you will get a page to fill out various options. it actually works better just putting a username in as author (watch for unintended spaces if copy/pasting) and the range of dates if you know about when the post was. the "search terms" box can be kind of wonky but you can always try, just don't give up if that doesn't give results. I usually leave it blank when I am looking for something.

(66,039 posts)I checked with Skinner a while back as to any copyright infringement for publishing my essays that first appeared at DU. That was before I embarked upon putting them in a book. Skinner said there was no problem with my doing that, so I proceeded.
