Why are Canadian Flag avatars missing now? Particularly excruciating in these times

I was surprised, kinda taken aback, that they could be removed…especially at a Democratic message board.
Most of my wife’s family has deep Canadian roots. Spent a lot of time banging around Ontario in my wild youth, when loonies were just crazy people, living across from Windsor made it easy back then.

I think there's reduced capacity for images to be displayed.

It happens during busy times and during maintenance.

There was a hardware upgrade yesterday and by all reports it went well. Don't know if this is related, but it might be. I don't think there is any tinkering going on at the moment, certainly not anything that triggers an announcement.
