Unless there isn't a clear view of what it is that is being targeted. The article also says that the shooting took place after sunset and it is illegal to hunt after sunset in NY. This was no accident but criminal negligence at best.

North Georgia I was running a lot back then. As I was leaving for a run in a animal refuge with licensed weekend going on - connected property. Two very experienced hunters in the house stopped me. "You have on white" (log sleeve shirt).

These guys don't hunt around the general public. One is one of the best hunters I've ever heard of.

I changed shirts. The masses see white and they shoot.
