A hint that might help

My family uses lots of batteries. Mostly AA and AAA but a few of the smoke and CO detectors use 9 volts.

Here's the hint: Lowes sells batteries cheap but you have to plan ahead. My local CVS wants $10 for 16 store brand AAs. Lowes has a bulk pack of 100 AAs for about $21. 100 AAAs are about $23.

The CVS price works out to 62 cents and Lowes is about a third of that. Maybe it's embarrassing but I give batteries as gifts or along with battery powered gifts.

Between flashlights, small tools and media remotes we have about 20 things that run on batteries.

1. Yes, Lowe's does have the best prices on batteries.

Sometimes Woot! has a good price, but you have to be careful you don't end up with not so great batteries.

I've found some great stuff.

If you have kids with battery powered toys, you could owe your life to drug stores. How can they sell perishables like milk for minimum prices and sell batteries for triple?

3. I'm lucky, I can get the huge packs of AA and AAA batteries once a year at Costco

For the 9 volt batteries for my TENS unit, I've found Amazon to have about the best deal on big packs of them.

Funny, I haven't used C or D cells for years.

8. I got a 9 cup kitchen aid food processor for $70 refurb

The retail was about $150 new and $95 refurb outside of amazon.
I have my eye on a dehydrator.

We just bought a refurbished like new 13 cup Kitchenaid for 90.00
I used Amazon reviews and prices as the basis for shopping, we got a good deal on ebay.

I would have liked a higher capacity machine with the front panel adjustment for slice thickness but I couldn't justify the money.

We are making efforts to include more vegetables in our diet.

6. In my Lowes there often near the checkout

I had to ask once and they were found on a shelf about 11 feet up.
