(155,539 posts)He stated what the law is in regard to body cameras and how frustrated he was when he found out it had not been on during the confrontation. 
He stayed calm and centered on the problems and how he is dealing with them. Being mayor in South Bend means that he is in charge all the time.  
This is his experience, for those who don't think he has enough.

(32,459 posts)that were tough and unpopular.  He had to stick to those decisions and face the firestorm.  I am thinking about his demotion of the police chief in particular.  Presidents have to make tough, unpopular decisions all the time.  He will be ready.
I am a Midwesterner.  I went to school in Indiana.  I know South Bend as a conservative city.  They have many Democrats in that city, but they are socially conservative.  Somehow, they still embrace a mayor who is openly gay.
