Arresting Judges in their courtrooms is NOT NORMAL, and we should all be VERY LOUD about this.

This is the last sliding slope we want to be on. The Courts are just about the only branch of government we have left holding up the Constitution.

If we don't have the Courts and Judges (and Prosecutors and Lawyers) backs, then no one will and we might as well just give up and go outside to enjoy the spring (not a bad idea, if all else is lost)

I agree with the sentiment to not fall for the latest shiny object they try to distract us with (i.e. Kristy Noem's stolen purse) or stories like that. But Arresting Judges in their Courtroom - apparently without a warrant even - is crossing the Red Line for me.

We can't allow this kind of thing to be normalized.

this is NOT a sensationalized story with GIANT YELLOW LETTERS (which I too hate, by the way) but this story IS important.

However.............................. the YELLOW LETTER schick has to stop.

It's overused and is simply an example of 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf': if EVERYTHING is screaming "IMPORTANT! BRIGHT YELLOW! IMPORTANT!" -we eventually tire of the hype and tend to ignore.

What the judge did is an act of civil disobedience, just as in the civil rights era. Like churches providing sanctuary; like citizens hiding, protecting runaway slaves.

In civil disobedience we accept that we break the law--and suffer the consequences (believing in the rule of law)--but for a higher moral purpose, to shine attention on an injustice. to show the law is wrong-headed. And/or to force the powerful to confront a religio-societal hypocrisy.

There is an extensive literature on civil disobedience, the morality, the impact on social order, etc. Martin Luther King contributed greatly, and, indeed, Martin Luther himself.

Wilson in the OP ignores the special moral status of civil disobedience.

Also: think of whistle-blowers. Lawbreakers/criminals for the greater good.
