The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is a global land conservation organization. One of its core strategies is to buy land (or conservation easements) to protect it from development, ensuring it remains in a natural state for wildlife habitat, water resources, and climate resilience.

They often:

Purchase land outright and manage it as a preserve.

Work with landowners to place conservation easements on private property (land stays privately owned, but development rights are restricted).

Partner with governments and tribes to expand protected areas.

In the U.S., TNC has created or helped manage millions of acres of preserves and also holds rights on tens of millions more through easements.

Became enlightened & realized they live on this planet too & that they have the means to help stop this problem.

Don't know what they can do about overpopulation however. (Some here don't realize that is indeed a problem.)
