The anger will boil over sooner or later. Yes Trump wants that. He keeps adding heat to a steaming pot of water to cause it. He will get his boil over, if not now in LA over this, then somewhere else for a different reason, because he has ample fuel to make it happen.

Rioters are never popular, but riots bring issues to the surface and at some point blame starts being assigned toward those who allowed the reason for those riots to fester. If Trump overplays his authoritarian hand, which i believe he will, he will increasingly be seen as trying to make matters worse.

Mainstream commentators did not express sympathy and support for the rioters in Detroit and Watts in the 60's. They were not cast in a positive light, but the issues that caused their anger began to be examined whereas they previously were largely ignored.

We should not try to in any way glamorize those who engage in violence, but we must make sure that the true stores that prompt that rage get told and shared.
