and insisting on purity means that we will always be a minority - or, more actually, lots of minority groups with overlapping views but who let our differences dilute our voice on the things on which we can unite.

Those who find ICE raids unacceptable (or even who only find certain ICE raids unacceptable) can speak with a united voice on that issue without insisting that everything else we say is identical.

Some of those who find ICE raids also unacceptable are proud Mexicans - or support their friends and neighbors who are Mexicans - or even think that right now Mexico might be a better place to be. Nothing wrong with ALSO expressing any of that, as long as it doesn't contradict the main message.
