But you shouldn't expect to insult me and have me remain silent.
Let's sort this out:
There are two categories, in general (I feel like I have to spell that out for you) of immigrants: 1) legal immigrants, who went through the process by applying to the government to immigrate and were granted the status, and who might be on a track to naturalize; and 2) illegal immigrants (NOT undocumented) who did not try but came over the border and do not have the status that the first group has.
There's no getting around that. Despite what rump says, we do not have open borders, and if you come over the border and settle in, you are still committing a crime, an infraction, or violation of the rules (no matter what you want to call it) and you are illegally immigrating.
I am sorry you are so upset. I have no idea what you mean by "what I have always known." You don't know me. You want to insult me because of previous judgments, I don't gaf. You be you. I did not insult anyone. I did not intend to insult anyone. I am here to learn. That's all. I wonder what you would have said if I had called them "illegal aliens." You might have stroked. Glad I didn't.
I think that American life is enriched by immigrants. I feel strongly that we have to protect them, out of our own self interest. I grew up when they were called "illegal aliens," until that term was changed, and "melting pot" was still understood to be positive.
If you want to be overly sensitive regarding what I consider legalease, just remember to take a deep breath every now and again. You're not doing yourself any favors. No insults are hurled here, except the one you hurled at me. Step back.
