Does OPEC have an "an attack on one of us is an attack on all"... [View all]

...provision in its constitution?

Donald Trump, for reasons known only to him, bombed an OPEC member a couple days ago. With real bombs.

If OPEC has a mutual-aid policy like NATO's Article 5, and Trump's bombing triggered it, we could be facing a situation that's worse than the 1973 Oil Crisis. Even impeaching and convicting the bastard - no longer outside the realm of possibility if gasoline hits $6 per gallon and almost a certainty if it hits $10 - might not solve the problem.

In the movie Full Metal Jacket the lieutenant closed out his speech at the meeting the morning after the Tet Offensive kicked off by telling his Marines, "it's a giant shit sandwich and we're all gonna have to take a bite." Thanks to Trump I suspect we're not only going to have to eat the whole sandwich, they'll give us another one when we're finished. And we'll have to eat that one too.
