...housing developments in these dangerous places. And of course, when bad things happen in those places they want the government to be the ones to spend money fixing it for them so they can turn around and make even more money developing them again.

With most things "conservative" these days it is all about profit--everything else be damned. Profit over planet; profit over people; profit over the prophet.
