CIA officer George Joannides ran anti-Castro Cuban exile groups in New Orleans in 1963, at the same time Oswald “led” pro-Castro Fair Play for Cuba Committee in New Orleans. An apparently staged public confrontation led to Oswald on the radio to talk about his life as a Marxist.

Later, in the late 1970s, when the House Select Committee on Assassinations investigated CIA role, CIA assigned Joannides in charge of liaison with committee investigators going over files at Langley. No copies. No notes. And he made certain nothing incriminating was found.

The House investigation was never informed he was the same guy as the man running Oswald in New Orleans.
