4. I think it's a form of dysmorphia... they can't see the ugly themselves.

They think they are pretty somehow... maybe in the sum of their individually 'beautiful' parts...

higher cheekbones + fuller lips + overdone eyes = BEEEAUTIFULLLL!

Also, it seems to be something akin to how anorexics can't see how thin they really are.
