just launched the final in the series of GOES-U (Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite U) satellites last Summer. These new weather satellites provide continuous coverage of the Western Hemisphere, including monitoring tropical systems in the Atlantic ocean. They went in to service on April 7 of this year and are expected to be in service for the next 15 years.
