11. In one way, it's a whole lot of nothing

A Putin body double gets jetted in for a bunch of meaningless photo sessions, then he flies back out. Putin's propaganda team goes to work on how brave he is, tempting fate by setting foot in the murderous west.

In another way, this could be a very big deal. The Russian entourage is a large one but with no foreign policy wonks, no diplomats, no military, and no negotiators. What it does feature are the bankers and economists and their negotiators. This is about the sanctions and Russia facing economic collapse within the next six months.

This is when smart people would negotiate an end to sanctions tied to an orderly withdrawal of all Russian troops, administrators, and colonists from Ukrainian soil.

Sadly, I doubt "Let's Make a Deal Don" realizes this.
