but in 2028, Trump won't be on the ballot, and a lot of never-Trumpers presumably would vote Rethuglican again, even if it was Vance as the nominee. We will do everything we can to tie him (or whoever their nominee is) to Trump, but it just won't work with some people. Also, our side will have a very bruising fight for the nomination, without it being anyone's "turn" or any other sort of heir apparency. Of course, we have to hope that the economy is in tatters by then, and I find it difficult to feel that way, even though I'm pretty well insulated from most financial problems that people have during a recession.

And, I don't know what the situation is in Maryland, but it probably is a riskier proposition in other Democratic-run states.
