11. The veins are fragile and you need to be well hydrated.

I had 2 heart attacks last year and an acute Pancreatitis last week. I look like a pin cushion. They were put heating pads on my hand veins at the end. Also blood draws (every 3 hours) add up over the course your under care. If you have an IV in your arm they have to draw the sample up-gravity so the IV fluids don’t contaminate the sample. You also do not draw blood from the same needle that they inject drugs or the IV drips which are critical if you have an emergency.
