Donald Trump is once again invoking religion in his fundraising appeals, sending an email (once again) with the subject line “I want to try and get to Heaven.” The message frames his political career and survival of last year’s assassination attempt as evidence of divine intervention, declaring, “God saved me for one reason: TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
