that he's smarter than the average bear. He thinks he's smarter than some woke woman reporter. He is insulated by his office. He was smart enough to maneuver his way to his position.

All that matters is that he wield power to his benefactors' whims. They pay no price for their stupidities, their arrogance, their bigotries. Nobody exacts a consequence upon them.
