9. Metaphors are not always literal.

The English language evolves everyday and words and phrases enter common usage.
Often times they are not actually accurate. But everyone knows what the speaker means.

I once heard an English professor give a lecture on this topic.
It was quite interesting. People keep changing our language.
It is quite fluid and dynamic, and we cannot stop it.
And she said we should not try. The language is a tool for humans and they change it
to accommodate changing times.
