10. The damage

I worked with children and adults with autism. With children, just a slight change in their schedule would send them into a meltdown. Granted this children is 15 but still, depending on his coping skills and level of functioning any progress he has made in the last 15 years maybe totally destroyed. This makes me sick to my stomach. Could they not tell he was not neurotypical. It's unbelievable that they just don't care. These people are sad sorry excuses for humans. Gorillas have more compassion than ICE. They have damaged this child. The extent is not known but it could be massively devastating. Family needs to sue somebody cause their child is going to need lots of services if he is going to be able to return to some level of what's normal for him. I can't think of any other word other devastating. There just isn't a word in the English language that fully explains the damage they've done.
