12. That's over a billion dollars for him

Avoiding a billion dollar expense by simply picking a new place to live sounds like an easy decision.

And it’s likely much more than that since his net worth is tied up in assets that would draw large capital gains taxes federally and in California if he had to sell them to pay the tax.
