I'd not heard of this before. Sounds less like murder and just more of Donald being trash.

However, several former associates have disputed the near-miss narrative.

Former Village Voice reporter Wayne Barrett, in his book Trump: The Greatest Show On Earth, wrote that Trump “did not hesitate to use [the crash] for personal advantage,” alleging that he planted stories suggesting he had almost boarded the helicopter — even though Barrett claimed Trump had never ridden to Atlantic City on a chartered helicopter, preferring his personal Puma helicopter.

In Lost Tycoon: The Many Lives of Donald J. Trump, author Harry Hurt also questioned the account. Hurt alleged that Trump sought to capitalize on the tragedy for publicity, claiming that during a phone call with a reporter, Trump said: “You're going to hate me for this but I just can't resist. I can get some publicity out of this,” before telling the reporter he had nearly gone on the flight.
