Newsom Press Office proves "getting" Trump doesn't always mean a "ha-ha funny joke" or satire, and... [View all]

...despite the way Trump has fucked up American life for over a decade, the bastard's "methods" are very, very simple.

The man has no values, no ethics, no human feelings, no empathy. He's an impulsive toddler, a predator tuned in to what he can eat, spend, or fuck (although I have my doubts about that last one in 2026).

ANYWAY...back to the old joke about "Trump isn't playing 3 dimensional chess, he's playing checkers, and eating all the pieces."

Newsom's people know that sometimes, setting up and delivering a joke is key. Other times, a couple of well-chosen words tell the whole tale.

Gov. Gavin Newsom called out the president’s insensitivity to the valor of military service by comparing his comments to those of past Republican presidents.

“‘We here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain.’ — Lincoln. ‘These are the boys of Pointe du Hoc. These are the men who took the cliffs. These are the champions who helped free a continent.’ — Reagan," Newsom wrote in a post on X. “‘That’s the way it is.’ — Trump.”

Democratic Senator Tammy Duckworth, a Purple Heart recipient, also took to X to slam the president for his comments.

“‘That’s the way it is,’ says the five-time draft dodger to our military families who fear their loved one in uniform could be next,” Duckworth wrote, noting Trump’s five draft deferments during the Vietnam War. “What a disgrace.”
