Throwing "common soldiers" into a meat grinder like they're cosplaying at Gettysburg is not the same as fighting an insurgency.
Damn, this exact scenario was part of a wargame back in the 90's, and even the CIA found it a failure. And they don't care how many American lives are lost if they think they can politically take over a profitable country.
I'm thinking Kegsbreath is either really planning on bringing his "Warrior" God back to take the world back to the Bronze Age, or he got the Red Team playbook on how the insurgents can win.
