No Kings Rally in Florence KY [View all]

I just wanted to report on the success of the Florence No Kings rally. According to the local news, the rally had well over 1000 attendees, lined up on one side of Mall Road from the beginning to the end of the road. While I didn't see the whole rally, I did pick up on the enthusiasm and righteous anger of those standing around me. Because it was Mall Road and a Saturday, there was a lot of traffic and we got far more supportive honks and waves from the drives than we got middle fingers and curses. The creativity that people put into their signs was amazing and I felt good being with other people who felt and thought similarly to me.

This was my first political rally and I am glad I went. I have long ranted about politics and have never been known to withhold my opinion but never before attended a rally. This won't be my last.
