You're right: It's very hard to know what misgivings and suspicions lie in people's hearts.

But I'll tell you what: whenever I hear Trump and his goons bellow about "anti-Christians being domestic terrorists", I know who's at the top of that list: Jewish people.

Especially those who won't carry their fascist water.

I know that a Senator Platner would do everything he can to stop that - something that "Ms. Concern" definitely wouldn't.

And we'll need all hands on deck on this. The right, as you know, loves to blame Jews for any number of social ills.

Drugs and crime? "A Jewish/Globalist plot!"

The rent is too damned high? "Landlords are all Jews - don'tchaknow!"

The federal debt crisis? "The Rothschilds are trying to corner the Fed!"

And so on.

GOP lawmakers are well aware of those prejudices (which many of them share), and do everything they can to dog-whistle to them - just enough to keep the Archie Bunkers in the fold.
