Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-Ill.) said the interest in Cuba was just the latest effort to topple a string of world leaders.

“The fact that we have a president who believes the Western Hemisphere is his backyard to play on, I think, is really disturbing, and it certainly shows that our president has no respect for country sovereignty,” she told The Hill.

“When does it stop? First, Venezuela, now we’re in Iran. He jokes about Canada, Greenland, and now he thinks that he’s just going to be able to change leadership in Cuba because he wants it.”

Cuba’s top diplomat, Bruno Rodríguez, fired back at Rubio Thursday, saying the country poses no threat whatsoever, accusing the secretary of lying “again to instigate a military aggression that would provoke the shedding of Cuban and American blood.”
