If CA taxes 100% of the amount received, the Proud Boy might still be liable for some federal income tax. So if they took anything from the slush fund, they might actually LOSE money in the process.

Of course, none of this bothers Trump. He was planning to give most of it to himself and his family anyway.

Nonetheless, this is a great move by Newsom because it gives the media something to talk about instead of just running continuous loops of the orange cretin.
