The AI that helps people the most in their daily lives can run locally.

The huge data centers are for the surveillance state. The surveillance state was already huge and growing before LLMs came along. But getting AI into that game takes mind-boggling amounts of storage and processing power.

The main impact on the rest of us is sky-high prices for disk drives, memory chips, laptops, video cards, you-name-it.
